Drug-related items found after search

KENYON — A search warrant executed last week at a Kenyon home turned up suspected narcotics, drug paraphernalia and weapons.

According to Kenyon Police Chief Lee Sjolander, a case put together by KPD officer Bill Gerhart gave officials probable cause to pursue the search at the residence of Paige Marie Lair, 23, at 316 Red Wing Ave.

Officers made forced entry to the home Thursday afternoon, where Todd Andrew Markham, 27, of Mazeppa, was asleep in a bedroom.

Markham was detained while the warrant was executed; Lair was not at home at the time.

Taken from the home were suspected narcotics, including marijuana and what is believed to be trace amounts of methamphetamine.

Also removed were “items consistent with packaging material,” Sjolander said, as well as a pistol and long guns.

An upstairs tenant at the residence was not involved in the search.

Charges against both Lair and Markham are pending, awaiting test results on the narcotics from the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and review of the reports by the Goodhue County Attorney’s office.

No arrests were made at the time of the search warrant.

Law enforcement officials from Kenyon, Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol and the Kasson Police Department participated in the search.
