K-W Schools closed at 10:30 a.m.

Because of heavy snowfall early in the morning that is expected to carry throughout the day, the Kenyon-Wanamingo School District closed at 10:30 a.m.

According to the National Weather Service, up to 8 inches of snow could fall in the area by the end of the day. Winds are expected to reach 14 mph, making visibility low and driving conditions difficult.

More snow is expected Wednesday, according to the NWS. Wind chill values are expected to drop to minus 11.
